We’re looking for an experienced high-mid to senior-level Fullstack PHP developer with 6 to 15+ full time years of web software development (including a significant level of eCommerce experience) to join our friendly development team where you can make a real contribution, both on work for clients and on the development of our own software and systems, and on the development of the business.
 

We are constantly undertaking new and leading-edge developments to produce competitive advantages for a number of sophisticated sector-leading websites, and you would play a key role in these projects, from inception, specification and ongoing enhancements and support either on your own or working closely with other programmers and team members.

This role ideally would be office-based or hybrid dependent on the candidate and his/her location, but with the potential for increased remote working once fully settled in.

Background
We are a web development and digital agency established 26 years, and currently employing between 15-20 people. Unlike many agencies however we tend to have close, ongoing long-term and strategic partner relationships with our clients, sometimes exceeding 15 years.  So we often operate very much as a partner to these businesses, making a real contribution to their business’s progress and development. The company has a large number and variety of clients including some sector leaders whom we helped establish. We create websites and related online business management systems and apps using well-known platforms, our own leading-edge CMS and ecommerce systems, as well as with sophisticated and regular bespoke enhancements, including integrations with other 3rd party and own-product systems such as CRM, inventory, online quotation systems, shipping/fulfilment and accounts, to name but a few.

We care about our clients and strive to help them build their businesses by providing real value from our committed and close-knit team of professionals.

The company’s focus is providing services to SME’s typically turning over between £500k-£100M and employing 3 – 150 people, who see development for them on the internet as integral to their ongoing business. The company provides programming, development, business process automation, analysis/optimisation, digital creative design, marketing, SEO and support to enable and maximise the potential for these developments.

The post is required to provide additional high-level development resource for fullstack LAMP development projects including testing, CI/CD, DevOps and SysOps, as well as for ongoing R&D of our own platforms and apps. We seek an enthusiastic senior level developer who wants some responsibility and to be part of something, who cares and is committed to producing quality work, and who would be eager to contribute to the ongoing development of our products and code, and to the success of our clients and our business. Responsibilities and Duties

• Help design/plan and undertake new front-end / back-end development work and contribute to new business solutions developments, and test once development is completed, including unit testing
• Module creation and other programming projects (using object-oriented programming primarily in a LAMP environment, using PHP/MYSQL/Maria Db and/or Laravel)
• Ongoing consideration of new security features and additional functionality and efficiencies we can bring into use
• Migration of legacy systems to our leading-edge CMS
• Bug tracing and fixing
• Acting as a team player, willing and able to contribute.
• Good English communications skills, able and willing to work well with colleagues and clients, understanding requirements and able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Practical Skills and Experience over multiple projects, including assisting with DevOps requirements
• Some previous agency experience desireable
