Trading online today is not necessarily just focused on your website. There are many sales channels available (some not requiring you to have your own website), and we can help you get started using them, branding and professionalising your presence on them, creating your own shop designs and functionality, and finally integrating these with your website (when it makes sense to do so).
Both eBay and Amazon have self-contained systems which allow traders to access millions of consumers. They also both allow your own pages or 'shops' which can be branded and have its functionality customised to a limited extent. Products can be added using their admin systems, which can also receive your customer orders. For this privilege, eBay and Amazon will levy charges against order values and usually on placing a product onto their system, but even with these charges both Amazon and eBay can be very important sales channels that can be accessed relatively inexpensively, and potentially less expensively than setting up your own ecommerce website.
For some start-up businesses coming to us for a website, sometimes we will even advise that they start on eBay or Amazon first, before setting up their own ecommerce site. This is because they have sorted out a number of issues for you, such as hosting, security, SEO and payment processing, as well as providing a product database and shopping cart system.
In any event, we can help you. Either we can assist you with getting set-up, or we can provide you with some training on how eBay and Amazon work (there are differences). In your initial set-up, you can choose to either start without your own shop or with one. If the later we can mockup designs and then build them. Plus we can adjust their product systems so your products can be delivered to the screen more closely to how you might want it (there are some limitations in what you can do).
If you are already selling on eBay or Amazon but would like to create your own shop or improve how the current one works, contact us and we can assess what you need and get you sorted.
The fact eBay and Amazon have their own management systems can be a great bonus for businesses which only operate via that channel. Whilst this is very beneficial, for businesses also selling through a website or via additional channels, having to administer over multiple admin systems can become very costly and time-consuming, and ultimately can cause problems because the systems are not connected. If this describes your situation then we may be able to help you consolidate them with our multi-channel ecommerce system. Our clients who have used it have saved countless hours of admin, saving £thousands, and have also been able to increase the products offered and sales because of the huge capacity improvement we can provide. This will also be very relevant if you are trading on eBay or Amazon now but wish to start trading through your own website as well, or the other way around. Even if you don't undertake the integration straight away, making the choice of using our system that will accommodate this later, will undoubtedly save you a great deal of money and unnecessary disruption down the line. If these options sound right for you, please don't hesitate to contact us, or click here to find out more about our multi-channel ecommerce.
Another very widely used platform is Google Shopping, which is what you might see on Google at the top of its results when you do a product search. Google Shopping is part of the Google Adwords range of 'Pay per Click' advertising, so you pay Google every time someone clicks on your ad. Google Shopping works by using a file or feed of product data from your website that is provided to it. Google will then show your products in its shopping area, and when clicked on, the visitor will be taken to the product page on your website. Whatever ecommerce website or shop system you use, we should be able to help you get everything set up so then you can use Google Shopping as a new sales channel. We are also qualified Google Partners, so we can also manage the shopping for you if you don't want to do it yourself. To find out more about our Google Shopping management service click here.
