Freetimers undertakes programming and development projects using a number of frameworks and languages, but the vast majority of these and our work takes place within the open-source Linux operating system server environment, most often referred to by the software stack typically deployed, which is the LAMP stack comprised of Linux o/s, Apache server management, PHP as the main programming language, and MySQL (or versions of this like Maria DB) as the database system.
The majority of web servers live on the Internet today are Linux-based, with the main alternative being the proprietary Microsoft operating system utilising their version of SQL and the ASP or .NET programming language. We occasionally do work with .NET and ASP websites, but our experience and expertise is primarily using the LAMP stack.
