The proactive amongst us may have noticed last week that Google suddenly started producing roughly double the number of results it produces to a search. At the same time, other changes have been made and the result has been ranking chaos for a great many websites. This is consistant with a long list of changes Google has made over the last few months which seem to discriminate against more complex websites in favour of simple, primarily text-based sites, which if one were feeling in a conspiratorial mood, one might assume was an attempt by Google to force the more serious business to use their quite expensive pay per click service (Adwords).
Because of these changes we recommend that your website's search relevancy be reviewed urgently, and that also structural changes could be needed for some sites to make them more text-friendly for Google's new requirements. Freetimers will be contacting most of our clients about this next week, however if you are concerned about your Google ranking, please contact us for a review and assesment on 0800-9701100.
